Description
Our client, a well-established institution is hiring a Senior Accountant responsible for performing a variety of professional accounting duties; compiling, preparing, and maintaining financial data and records to ensure all information is accurately recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Performs professional accounting tasks in compliance with GAAP, including journal entries, accounting adjustments, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
- Prepares daily reconciliations of accounts, reviews account movements, and ensures accuracy across operational and financial records.
- Records and reconciles investment-related transactions such as purchases, sales, interest, and dividends, and prepares supporting schedules and reports.
- Manages accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor coordination, purchase orders, and preparation of required tax documentation.
- Provides operational accounting support including reconciliations, audit confirmations, petty cash management, and secure record keeping of financial and legal documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting roles, demonstrating strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and experience working with AS/400 systems.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
