Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to partner with our client, Discover Puerto Rico, and drive the strategic marketing initiatives that position Puerto Rico as a premier global destination. This executive leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing robust brand positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies to maximize visitor acquisition and revenue growth. The CMO will oversee all marketing operations, including media and public relations, digital marketing, social media strategy, content development, partnerships, and advocacy programs, ensuring alignment across all channels to deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual marketing plans, budgets, and strategies across various marketing channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets to enhance Puerto Rico's brand.
- Lead and supervise marketing, international public relations, and digital marketing teams.
- Analyze visitor data to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts and drive revenue growth.
- Manage partnerships with key industry stakeholders and negotiate contracts with vendors.
- Collaborate closely with leadership to execute organizational strategies and ensure integration of marketing initiatives.
- Supervise staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide guidance to motivate and lead teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of tenured experience in Strategic Marketing Management, Project Management, Destination Marketing and/or Communications experience (Tourism industry experience highly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Tourism. MBA or another post-graduate degree strongly preferred.
- Prior experience servicing as an executive level marketing leader in the Travel and Tourism industry, preferred.
- Proven track record in marketing leadership and revenue generation.
- Strong political acumen and experience in working with industry partners to increase tourism.
- Expertise in integrated marketing, media relations, digital strategy, and content development.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
