The British Virgin Islands School of Medicine is seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management & Admissions to lead and execute a comprehensive recruitment, admissions, and communications strategy. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, this senior-level role is critical in attracting a highly qualified and diverse student body that aligns with the School's mission and academic excellence.

The Assistant Dean will collaborate across departments—including marketing, diversity, accreditation, and academic leadership—to ensure a streamlined and effective admissions process while enhancing the institution's global presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement student recruitment strategies with a focus on international outreach and diversity.
  • Oversee and manage the admissions budget, interview process, and committee operations.
  • Develop partnerships with recruiters and academic institutions to strengthen applicant pipelines.
  • Represent the School at national and international forums (e.g., AAMC, medical education fairs).
  • Implement best practices and data-driven strategies for admissions, including the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) format.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (e.g., ACCM), state and federal regulations, and AAMC guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Student Affairs to develop orientation, onboarding, and student success programs.
  • Lead marketing and digital communications initiatives in coordination with the university’s communications team.
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of both the Admissions Committee and the Executive and Policy Committee.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, EdD, or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years of experience in admissions or student recruitment (preferably in a medical or health sciences setting)
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in data analysis and admissions-related technologies (e.g., WebAdmit, AMCAS)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Experience with ACCM or equivalent accreditation bodies
  • Familiarity with holistic admissions and MMI methodology
  • Proven record in marketing-driven recruitment strategies
  • Background in supporting diverse and inclusive student populations.
  • This role requires 70–100% effort. Faculty rank and home department may be determined based on qualifications and experience.
