Description
A new international university campus is seeking a dedicated and proactive Student Success Officer to coordinate institution-wide efforts aimed at enhancing student integration, academic performance, and retention. This role is vital in supporting students throughout their academic journey—helping them persist, succeed, and graduate.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Student Success Officer will lead academic support strategies, analyze retention data, implement early-alert systems, and collaborate closely with departments to improve the overall student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop individualized academic success plans using performance data and faculty input.
- Provide one-on-one academic coaching and coordinate high-stakes exam preparation (e.g., USMLE).
- Analyze retention and performance data to guide interventions and planning.
- Support student engagement through events, orientation, and extracurricular programming.
- Coordinate job fairs, career prep, and graduate school placement opportunities.
- Collaborate across departments to remove barriers to student progression and success.
- Maintain detailed reports on retention, persistence, and graduation metrics.
- Serve as liaison for online students, ensuring access to academic and support services.
Requirements
- Education: Master’s or Doctorate in Education Leadership, Counseling, Psychology, Business, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in academic support, student services, retention, or related areas.
- Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred), excellent communication, data analysis, time management, and organizational skills.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SIS (Jenzabar) and LMS (Canvas) is a plus.
