Description
Our client, a trusted healthcare institution in Puerto Rico, is hiring an Accounting Clerk to support patient account reconciliation and financial transaction analysis. This position is essential to ensuring accurate cash application, revenue recognition, and proper financial reporting across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Apply incoming payments from insurance remittances to patient accounts
- Analyze patient account balances and ensure timely, accurate revenue recognition
- Reconcile cash activity between bank accounts and general ledger entries
- Prepare and post journal entries related to cash and revenue operations
- Investigate discrepancies and support month-end closing processes
- Assist with financial reports and ad hoc analyses related to payment trends and account status
- Collaborate with billing, collections, and finance teams to resolve open item
Requirements
- Associates degree
- Strong understanding of cash applications and general ledger reconciliation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
