Our client is a well-established and growing solar energy organization is seeking a leader to oversee engineering, installation, and commissioning operations. This executive will ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, technical rigor, and profitability across residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.
This role serves as a critical bridge between engineering design, operational planning, and field execution, driving scalability, quality, and safety while supporting the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the Engineering, Installation, and Commissioning functions.
- Define and standardize technical, operational, and quality processes to support scalable growth.
- Ensure full compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and permitting processes.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Permitting, Procurement, and Customer Experience to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review and approve electrical and structural designs, ensuring technical accuracy, cost efficiency, and system performance optimization.
- Lead enterprise-level resource planning, including staffing strategy, subcontractor partnerships, equipment, and materials.
- Establish and enforce quality assurance and safety programs across all installation operations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including installation timelines, cost control, margins, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical challenges, inspections, and final approvals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, technology adoption, and operational scalability.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of engineers, project leaders, and technical professionals
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in solar energy, engineering, or construction environments, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Deep expertise in photovoltaic systems, inverters, battery storage, and energy management solutions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and permitting frameworks.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Executive-level communication, leadership presence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with engineering, project management, and operational systems.
- Fluent bilingual (English and Spanish).
