Responsible for the technical operation of the ARV test cell, troubleshooting, and repairing units.  Make modifications to the units, ARV test methods and systems, designing test cell improvements and developing ways to summarize and present test data to the engineers and co-workers.  Work with engineers to decide which tests need to be run and recommend alternatives.  Provide training to other test technicians regarding refrigeration, a/c, and instrumentation; provide summaries and data analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct temperature control tests.  Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and electronic components/assemblies.
  • Interpret, analyze and summarize test data.  Make recommendations and write test reports. Able to interpret   FEA analysis and Reliability analysis.
  • Support Quality Assurance:
    • Responsible for keeping test yield under established parameters.
    • Submit failure report analysis.  (weekly/monthly):  Ex: Containment action, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plan.
    • Engineering changes validation.
    • Create visual aids for ARV test.
    • Establish, support and maintain ESD in test areas.
    • Participates in the development of PFMEAs.
    • Develops and validates Control plans.
    • Support and comply with quality system.


  • Provide training to other test technicians in analyzing test data, test system, test set ups, instrumentation, air conditioning and refrigeration.
  • Design and implement improvements for the ARV Test Cell.
  • Work with engineers to decide what test needs to be run and recommend alternatives.
  • Successfully accomplish objectives using individual and team approaches.
  • Work with Controller supplier and other electronics components technical contacts as well as with design engineers to troubleshoot and solve technical issues affecting the Arv test and production.
  • Assists engineers to decide what test to perform, how to perform them, equipment selection and test design.
  • Trains technicians on instrumentation and test methods.
  • Builds/maintains relations with people under stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a diverse team.  Able to put self in position of others to understand their perspective.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, system balance, refrigeration and a/c systems.
  • Understands TK’s refrigeration system and a/c systems.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Maintain the work area clean and organized.
  • Support lean initiatives (5s, RIE’s, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step).
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including EHS and ISO requirements.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSIE, BSME, BSEE)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Courses in thermodynamics, heat transfer and refrigeration.
  • Experience in development of test methods and procedures.
  • Experience executing test controllers, computer systems, among others.
  • Experience with FEA and Reliability Engineering Preferable
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills (English/ Spanish)
  • Computer knowledge (MS Office, project planning, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable of ISO
  • Knowledge of Lean / DFT theory and implementation
  • EIT and active member of CIAPR.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
