Description

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our Client (one of the world’s largest privately held industrial gas enterprises.). This role reports directly to the company Plant Manager in Puerto Rico.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the production team while fostering a proactive mindset and ensuring smooth operations in a unionized environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have a mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with SAP and time studies.
  • Ensures safe and efficient operation of equipment, focusing on both the equipment and the people operating it.
  • Builds and maintains strong teams and relationships within the workforce to maximize performance.
  • We seek someone with at least two years of direct supervisor experience in a highly regulated production environment able to learn the operation quickly.
  • Supports daily operations, including gas specifications and testing (analysis).
  • Collaborates with transportation and distribution teams, supporting loaders and drivers.
  • Provides support in troubleshooting pumps, equipment, and parts with a mechanical or engineering mindset.
  • Engages in projects, analyzing equipment, and understanding cylinders.
  • Ensures the supply chain is managed effectively, ensuring the availability of necessary materials.
  • Maintains flexibility and effective communication at all levels.
  • Able to understand processes, review KPIs, and monitor production and equipment maintenance delays.
  • Ensures safety and optimal conditions of equipment, production processes, and trucks, without compromising employee safety or surroundings.
  • Develops continuous improvement plans and conduct benchmarking with other plants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing industry experience.
  • Ideally familiar with the hazards and operating parameters of Ammonia, Nitrogen, Neon, CO2, and Helium, among other related gases for the manufacturing and filling of.
  • Proven leadership skills with a history of managing small teams and currently overseeing a diverse group of 6 direct reports.
  • Excellent team-building and relationship-building skills to get the best performance out of team members.
  • Strong focus on equipment management and operational excellence.
  • Fast learner and even-tempered, with a commitment to creating a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency in English, though not perfectly smooth, is sufficient for effective communication.
