Description
One of the largest global medical technology companies in the world is now hiring a Procurement Manager for their Puerto Rico offices to provide regional sourcing leadership to various sites within Latin America.
This people-driven and outstanding negotiator will optimize materials spending, ensure Supplier business continuity, implement projects, work with RFPs, analyzing quotations, and perform strategic sourcing for the packaging components portfolio.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of hands-on Procurement Background
- Experience Negotiating Agreements
- Previous background within a Medical Device environment.
- Experience purchasing packaging or related components is a plus!
- People Person & Strategic Vision
- Ability to manage complexity
- Able to work with cost-saving projects annually
- Regional or Global exposure is a plus!
- Able to work with Global Suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collaborating with Global Category Managers and key business partners at the three Mexican facilities to set country-specific tactical direction for sourcing materials spend
- Provide regional sourcing leadership in support of the Global Category Management as necessary
- Optimize materials spend by using spend across Mexican sites and create agreements that allow all sites to commit funds from a single relationship
- Manage and facilitate all facets of the Sourcing activities for sites including vendor evaluations, site audits, and continuous improvement processes for all suppliers
- Locate, analyze, develop and maintain a consolidated supplier base to meet the current and future needs of all purchased materials and services
- Lead country-specific negotiations for business terms and develop contracts for the supply of both standard and complex products and services with new and existing suppliers. Collaborate with Legal regards to contractual terms
- Lead quarterly business review process to drive continuous improvement in cost, delivery, and quality performance
- Uphold company fiduciary responsibilities; actively ensure and maintain adherence to company standards and values, business controls, ethics, policies and procedures, and professional standards

- Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process by using Lean Six Sigma tools
Education and/ or Experience Required:
- BS/BA degree with 6-8+ years of procurement experience
- Experience in Negotiating and Developing Agreements
- Experience in Medical Device or other Regulated Industries
Additional Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Must have strong understanding of sourcing process, analytics, negotiations, costing exercises, make versus buy and market intelligence
- Ability to use PC's and associated software
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Role requires for the person to be 100% on-site.
