Description
Our client, a global leader in the service sector, seeks a Legal Director to supervise the Legal Contract Division developing and leading the contract function, ensuring compliance, managing risks, and driving efficiency across the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a department responsible for the process of drafting and formalizing contracts.
- Advise on contract preparation, negotiation, and execution, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Supervise and evaluate contract-related work within the Procurement & Contracts department.
- Oversee drafting and formalization of contracts in alignment with regulations and organizational policies.
- Develop and implement divisional contract strategy to align with organizational objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks within the contract portfolio.
- Manage all aspects of contract execution, including drafting, negotiation, and finalization, while ensuring compliance and accurate record keeping.
- Conduct risk assessments, collaborate with legal teams, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Establish contract reporting systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams for strategic partnerships.
- Manage vendor contract amendments as necessary.
- Strong skills on contract negotiation.
- Lead large construction contract negotiations.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor
- Valid License by the PR Supreme Court to practice Law.
- 10+ years of commercial and contract negotiation experience.
- Familiarity with Puerto Rico contract law, Puerto Rico and federal government contracting regulations, and industry best practices.
- Previous experience supervising a legal team.
- Previous experience drafting and negotiating large constructions projects.
- Previous experience in contract negotiations with multiple service vendors.
- Fully bilingual.
