Controller

Our client, a Leader in the Insurance and Financial Industry is hiring a Controller. This position will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the Company’s accounting functions. This role also monitors accounting procedures throughout the organization to ensure the reliability of financial and operational reports.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Ensures the establishment and maintenance of effective internal controls over financial information
• Responsible for the supervision of all accounting’s functions
• Coordinates and manages external audits
• Monitor and investigate new accounting pronouncements and assess the impact on the Company
• Evaluates the Company’s financial systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and automatization
• Serves as Subject Matter Expert "SME" for the accounting aspects of strategic or large-scale projects
• Responsible for all financial reporting and compliance with the industry regulators

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA license
• Previous experience in a financial regulated industry
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• 1+ year of supervisory experience
• Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)

Compensation:

• Commensurate to candidate experience, includes base salary, performance bonus and excellent package of fringe benefits.
