Description

Administrative position in charge of the required processes around accreditations, institutional licensing and development of new undergraduate and undergraduate academic programs, post-secondary and post baccalaureate certificates and programs offered through continuing education. Advises academic management on opportunities to create new academic programs and trains academic units in relation to accreditation processes by specialized agencies.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Preferably doctoral degree, minimum degree of Master's in Curriculum and Teaching, Educational Management and Leadership, Instructional Systems and Educational Technology, Management of Post-Secondary Institutions, Educational Research and Evaluation, or related, accredited and recognized institution.
  • Three to five years of experience in an educational institution performing similar functions.
  • Ability to handle multiple functions, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral, written, communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to interact with the institution's management team at all levels and with the management staff of the different regulatory agencies, both state and federal.
  • Domain of multiple information systems and statistics.

Requirements

  • Investigates, updates and disseminates current official information on the offer and academic trends, social and market needs, local and international, among the units, services or corresponding forums.
  • Presents to the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs the necessary recommendations to ensure that the Work Plan of the Vice Presidency of Academic Affairs integrates the activities that allow achieving the objectives of academic updating, licensing and accreditation.
  • Plan and coordinate the self-study and progress reports, follow-up, compliance and other processes required by the national, regional and professional accrediting agencies.
  • Represents, as a liaison person, the Institution before the accrediting agencies and Licensors by the President of the University.
  • Asesora y apoya a las unidades académicas sobre nuevas tendencias académicas y procedimientos de acreditación y licenciamiento, de acuerdo con los reglamentos vigentes.
  • Analiza y orienta respecto a los procesos de acreditación y licenciamiento, pone a la disposición de las unidades la información disponible y asegura el cumplimiento procesal con los distintos organismos estatales y federales.
  • Recopila la información y prepara las propuestas e informes para notificar los cambios sustanciales curriculares e institucionales requeridos por las agencias acreditadoras y de licenciamiento.
  • Delinea y articula la logística a seguir antes, durante y después de la visita de las agencias acreditadoras y de licenciamiento.
  • Custodia y mantiene actualizado el archivo de Programas académicos.
  • Coordina y supervisa trabajos de consultores para tareas específicas de acreditación, licenciamientos y de traducciones periódicas al inglés de los catálogos institucionales.
  • Demostrar capacidad en gerencia de proyectos.
  • Habilidad para comunicarse eficazmente en forma oral y escrita en español y en inglés.
  • Demostrada capacidad de redacción de documentos e informes en ambos idiomas.
  • Capacidad para hacer presentaciones efectivas ante diversas audiencias.
  • Advises and supports academic units on new trends    academic and accreditation and licensing procedures, in accordance with current regulations.
  • Analyzes and guides regarding the accreditation and licensing processes, makes the available information available to the units and ensures procedural compliance with the different state and federal agencies.
  • Compiles the information and prepares the proposals and reports to notify the substantial curricular and institutional changes required by the accrediting and licensing agencies.
  • Outline and articulate the logistics to follow before, during and after the visit of the accrediting and licensing agencies.
  • Keeps and keeps updated the Academic Programs file.
  • Coordinates and supervises consultants' work for specific tasks of accreditation, licensing and periodic translations into English of institutional catalogs.
  • Demonstrate capacity in project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to write documents and reports in both languages.
  • Ability to make effective presentations to diverse audiences.
